Glass lined reactor is a type of reactor vessel commonly used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. It is essentially a container with a special glass coating that is widely used in petroleum, chemical, rubber, pesticide, dyestuff, medicine, food, used to complete the vulcanization, nitrification, hydrogenation, hydrocarbonation, polymerization, condensation and other processes.
The interior surface of the reactor is coated with a layer of glass, providing excellent resistance to corrosion from many chemicals; and the glass lining is typically made of borosilicate glass, which is highly stable in many chemical environments. The outer shell of the glass lined reactor is usually made of steel, providing structural support and additional protection. Glass lined reactors have good thermal conductivity, allowing for efficient heating or cooling of the reaction mixture, and can withstand relatively high temperatures and pressures.
