hey what's up guys it's Levi and today's learn the basics we're going over different types of screws let's get into it to start with we've got machine screws you can tell that these are machine screws because they have a fairly fine thread and they do not have a point at the end of them typically the application with these is going to require a nut and a washer next we've got what is called a sheet metal screw you can use these for a variety of different uses not just sheet metal however you can tell that's the type of screw that it is because it does have a self-starting point at the end and it has a fairly coarse thread last in this part is going to be lag screws these are going to be used when your application requires a lot of strength particularly with Lumber typically these have a hex head on them and they have a very coarse thread with a point on the end
