Indianapolis police say a baby boy who was inside a stolen vehicle on the north side has been found safe Wednesday night.
Police said a black 2014 Chevy Equinox was stolen in the 8000 block of Egret Lane, near West 79th Street and Harcourt Road, around 6:50 p.m. Nov. 20. A 6-month-old boy was reportedly inside the vehicle when it was stolen.
IMPD shared a photo of the boy and the vehicle on social media, then said he had been located around 9 p.m. Wednesday about five or six miles away from where the vehicle was stolen.
"We are incredibly thankful that this baby was found safe and want to thank the community all of their help," the department wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
