You may have seen many neighboring districts in the news lately announcing significant changes due to enrollment and budget concerns. I wanted to provide all of you with some information about Lake Washington School District’s budget, and our work ahead.
• LWSD continues to be in good fiscal standing.
• We are intentionally using budget reserves.
• We will need to balance our budget to align funding received with expenditures in the next two years.
• We are asking for your partnership as we work to balance our budget and develop a strategic plan over the next year to ensure that:
- We are funding our priorities.
- Our work and decisions are transparent.
- We develop a plan that continues excellence for each of our students.
