Here are 10 thing I wish I knew in my first year as a BCBA.
These are the topics, tasks, and situations that we don't discuss during our ABA program, but we tend to learn them by experience. Well I am here to share all the secrets, and shed light on all of the idiosyncrasies of our job as Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
1. You will be expected to write treatment plans and conduct assessments on your own
2. You may be expected to participate in several criminal background checks, TB tests, drug screenings, and fingerprint verification
3. You are now governed by our ethical codes and you are a mandated reporter
4. Required to participate in ongoing safety or crisis prevention training
5. As a BCBA, you will continue to study and research so don't throw your books away.
