Police are investigating after a man was found dead at gas station in southwest Atlanta.

It happened outside the Shell gas station on McDaniel Street overnight.

Atlanta police say an off-duty officer found a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds in the parking lot after hearing several shots fired in the area.

Moments later, two cars were reportedly seen leaving the scene.

The victim’s identify has not been released. The investigating is ongoing.
