Tell us about the role that BPM has played in your career and how it could help others.
BPM shaped my career. I want to give you a little bit of background on where I came from.
I have a statistics and operations research background and then I got my MBA in industrial management with a focus specifically on retail IT.
A global publicly traded financial services company hired me to overview and help with their processes for onboarding partners that directly impacted their revenue. They didn't have any system that track those transactions, tasks or processes.
There were so many cross functional groups, and I recall asking a simple process time and I had received different guesstimates from different stakeholders. The consensus was about 45 days. That's how it took to activate a partner. Two years later and after a lot of pain, we learned that it was over one year, so it was not even 45 days.
On the way to becoming a BPMP with BPMInsitute.org, I could confidently say that we were able to shave off significant time from the process and activate and recognize revenue as much earlier. This was a game changing, transformative thing for us.
