1.5 billion people wake up every day without having any footwear whatsoever which leads to barefoot diseases, especially amongst children. On the other hand, 350 million pairs of shoes are discarded every year and end up in landfills. We at Greensole help solve two pressing challenges - environmental and social in true super-hero style. And we thank DBS for their continuous support and mentoring to help us have a positive impact on the society.
Greensole, a social venture which recycles and upcycles old footwear to comfortable slippers and donates it to the children in need. So far, our efforts have brought over 1 lakh smiles across 350 villages in India. The footwear helped the children walk to schools from long distances, preventing them from diseases caused by unprotected feet.
