I just finished attaching a Harbor Freight 3-point log splitter to my sub-compact tractor. I have a Kubota BX-24 that I tend to push like it's bigger, and it doesn't seem to know that it's small. The splitter would be faster on a larger tractor, but it went through some very large pieces of black locust without any difficulty. I only want it to be faster than me with a maul!
I got the splitter for $400 using a 20% off coupon. The hoses were about $30 from Tractor Supply Company. The disconnects and adapters were about $50 from the Kubota dealer. I had to add about 1 gallon of hydraulic fluid (UDT) to fill the ram.
All in all, I've very happy!
