SuDS is concerned with integrating surface water management as a positive component in the planning, design, function and appearance of places. Water is inherently good and indeed is necessary but it can also be destructive. For these reasons, we must plan and design for water in a strategic, detailed and sustainable way which embraces it, harnesses it and manages it, not only for our for social benefit but for economic good sense and for benefit to the environment.
