I recently finished building my Voron 2.4r2 and wanted to share 15 mistakes that will likely get first time builders. Please share your own mistakes in the comments as it helps the community!
The 15 Mistakes:
1. Not completely understanding the time, commitment and money needed to build a CoreXY printer.
2. Lack of understanding the basic parts of a 3D printer or how it works.
3. Self sourcing: Underestimating the time and money required. Kits: Assuming the kit removes all research and learning requirements from the project.
4. Self sourcing: Buying the wrong parts and not buying extras of critical parts.
5. Failure to properly square the frame.
6. Not grinding flats on motor pins or using thread locker on set screws.
7. Improper routing of A and B belts.
8. Buying expensive wiring before determining the final setup.
9. Improper soldering of Stealthburner NeoPixels.
10. Shorting out electronics, especially the Pi which is hard to find.
11. Improper wiring, crimping and failure to check connections with a multimeter.
12. Failure to have a back up or recovery plan when flashing firmware.
13. Rushing to finish, especially near the end of build.
14. Assuming the printer is "done" once assembly is complete.
15. Not using CanBus.
