Kareela is a small village of ashoknagar district of madhya pradesh and is famous for Janaki (Sita) temple which is the only temple of SITA without lord Ram . Every year in rangpanchami (5th day after holi) a large mass of people gather here for a fair and is considered to be the largest fair of madhya pradesh of 1 day with footfall of around 1-1.5 million people. This fair also witness the famous Rai folk of bundelkhand by bediya community of madhya pradesh . The main temple have goddess Sita and her son luv-kush as the main deity .
