Some Group 31 batteries have a stainless steel post for securing the battery cables in the installation. Connecting tester leads to these terminals, without the proper lead adapters, almost always results in false test results. This video explains this and shows the proper procedure for testing these batteries. Although this video may provide you with the basic procedures, we recommend that you check with the vehicle manufacture's step by step procedures found in service/repair manuals for the vehicle you are working on.
