Shanidar Cave in Iraqi Kurdistan has been yielding Neanderthal remains since the 1950s. The most recent remains were discovered only a few years ago, including Shanidar Z - a Neanderthal woman who had been buried under mysterious circumstances.
DR EMMA POMEROY is an Associate Professor in Cambridge University -- a paleoanthropologist as well as an osteoarchaeologist, seen recently on the popular Netflix documentary, Secrets of the Neanderthals. She reveals first-hand details of uncovering, preserving and reconstructing these amazing new finds.
