STORYLINE:
Jewish settlers who took over an abandoned marketplace in the West Bank city of Hebron are to leave voluntarily on Monday, radio stations reported.
But they are expected to return, if their presence there is legally established, according to the report.
The government has agreed to speed up the legal proceedings in exchange for the settlers' temporary departure.
A spokesman for the settlers said they had agreed to leave the area "to calm down the atmosphere in Hebron."
The Israeli Defence Ministry had no immediate comment.
The marketplace is to be cleared under an Israeli commitment to the US to dismantle unauthorised settlement outposts.
The eight families living there were to have been forcibly evicted on Tuesday.
The state still intends to demolish Amona, another unauthorised outpost, this week after Israel's Supreme Court rejected Amona residents' petition against the demolition.
