Rob Hoos is roasting on the S15 Falcon, a 15 kg batch drum roaster with paddle stirring made by Loring Smart Roast in Santa Rosa, CA. Loring roasters are energy-efficient roasters that do not require an afterburner to comply with local clean air regulations with few exceptions. The S15 Falcon is of the same patented design as the S35 Kestrel & S70 Peregrine roasters (35 & 70 kg batch capacity, respectively). Rob gives demonstrations of the Loring roasters at the manufacturing plant and is also available for roast consulting. He is an educator for the SCAA and has published a new book "Modulating the Flavor Profile of Coffee: One Roaster's Manifesto".
