The Flora-Bama Oyster Bar & Lounge used to be about the only thing around the Alabama-Florida line for a long time and I got to enjoy it back when it was more of a locals only dive. Now it has grown along with all the condo towers sprouting up all around it. The Flora-Bama has now become a world famous family of businesses with the Flora-Bama Ole River Grill, the Flora-Bama Yacht Club, the Flora-Bama Liquor & Lottery and the Flora-Bama Marina & Watersports. I'm surprised they haven't yet built a Flora-Bama condo tower yet!!! I have ALWAYS had a fantastic time at Flora-Bama and in my opinion this is the BEST beach bar in the world. Flora-Bama has always been a huge supporter of live music and these days they usually have at least THREE bands playing in the three main music stages of the Flora-Bama Lounge (along with more music at the Flora-Bama Yacht Club & Flora-Bama Ole River Grill) on most weekends and often several during the weekdays. This is the jewel in the crown of what most of us call the Redneck Riviera or as some call it the Emerald Coast. Sadly the mullet toss was cancelled this year but now Flora-Bama is back open. In this video there is footage from the weekend after Mardi Gras before the COVID-19 Cornavirus lockdown and from the weekend before Memorial Day that was just the second weekend that Flora-Bama had partially reopened where a huge number of folks that had planned on attending the Hangout Music Fest still came down to the beach and kept the party going.
