Dylema is a British -Nigerian artist using gold, originally mined from Africa, to paint the faces of women in the diaspora.
She says painting her own portrait helped her accept herself after she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome and began growing excessive facial hair.
Her work on display at Somerset House in London, weaves together African identity, storytelling, and history.
