U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met Wednesday with senior Turkish officials, including President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, after Saudi leaders said they will "show the entire world" results of a thorough investigation into the disappearance of a U.S.-based Saudi journalist.
Pompeo did not make any public comments about his talks with Erdogan or Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu before leaving Turkey.
The State Department issued a statement saying Pompeo "expressed the United States' concern over Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance and reiterated the United States' willingness to assist Turkey in its investigation."
