China fired long-range missiles off the coast of Taiwan just days after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited the self-governing island republic.

Rocket artilleries were fired in the Taiwan Strait and conventional missiles were launched and landed in waters off the eastern coast of the island. China has long-threatened military action in response to efforts by Taiwan to solidify its de facto independence with the support of allies like the United States.
