Placemaking for the 250th: A Roadmap for RevolutionNJ Communities Workshop Series, introduces the concept of placemaking to communities commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America.
In Planning for the 250th: A How-To Guide for Placemaking, panelists provide concrete examples for incorporating placemaking into community plans. Our first speaker, Kaitlin Bundy, discusses how Somerset County is incorporating placemaking in their long-range community plan and how a county can get started for the 250th. Julie Hain demonstrates how communities can embrace digital asset mapping and the ways it
can help foster collaboration and the sharing of resources among various stakeholders. Gina Fischetti highlights ways that the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) can help support organizations seeking to incorporate placemaking in planning for the 250th.
This series will be of special interest for RevolutionNJ Communities, city councils, business owners, community planners, destination marketing organizations, history and arts-based organizations, and individuals looking for ideas and approaches to commemorative efforts.
