»Dust shall he eat, and greedily«
– Mephisto
Story (after Johann Wolfang Goethe's Faust I ):
Faust is an alchemist and doctor in the 17th century.
He has the urge to know what the earth consists of and he wants to know everything, but he realizes that he doesn't know the answers he desires so bad.
He takes a walk in the night in the forest till he discovers a stranger, a young man, standing in the forest with his eyes closed. He wonders, which madman would possibly do that?
One day later he arrives at a feast in the city and the young man is there too, smiling and cheering at the other guests. Faust decides to visit the other rooms where he finds a strange looking pentagram. He knows what that means.
Faust is so desperate to find his beloved answers that he summons the demon that is trapped in the symbol. The demon's name is Mephisto.
They make a deal. Mephisto will serve Faust and help him with everything he asks for, but if Faust shall ever say the words
»Oh moment, linger. You are so beautiful«
If he shall ever be satisfied with his life, his situation, Mephisto is allowed to take his life and his soul will belong to him.
Secretly, Mephisto made a bet with his lord to try making Faust one of his. To make him evil and to get him off of his path of searchinf for wisdom.
So they are a team and one night they share the same dream of Faust getting on a way darker path. He kills and tricks people and becomes a whole new person. While Mephisto is pleased with this idea, Faust is frightened about the prophecy.
Faust reads a book of the spirit world. He finds out that all demons are made to trick the living and to destroy all the good things one knows and he thinks about it. Shall he turn from Mephisto? Maybe he's getting too powerful.
At last Faust said his doomed words. He turned to Mephisto and smiled at him: »Oh moment, linger. You are so beautiful«
It wasn't clear if he thought the moment was beautiful or if he meant Mephisto.
Mephisto didn't think he would be so stupid to say these words, he is disgusted by the human being. He wanted to make him one of his kind but Faust was still a good person after all he's done.
So he goes. He doesn't want his soul anymore.
The last scene with Faust at the fire was before he died. He didn't believe the book. Mephisto was different than all the evil spirits he had known. He trusted him.
The scene with Mephisto looking at the photo is in the future. Faust had passed away a long time ago and he remembered.
A Tragedy.

I was so amazed by the book when I read it in school but only in the beginning because it gets so fucked up...
I wanted to make this video ever since.
I am sorry for this long as hell story but that's how I pictured it to be.
Also making this video was a pain in the ass, I spent hours to make a good looking coloring and when I wanted to apply it to the other scenes...IT FUCKING DIDN'T WORK
I am just very happy to be finished will this.
I ship Faust and Mephisto so hard, everything is just gay...or it's satan or in this case both.
