Based on the 1968 strike by Ford workers in Dagenham, Made in Dagenham sees a group of women sewing machinists fight for equal pay in a male dominated company. Led by Rita O'Grady, the fed up female workers stand up to their managers, union, and even their husbands all in the name of equality.


Gemma Arterton plays Rita, a role played by Sally Hawkins from the movie with the same name. This role follows Arterton's highly acclaimed performance in The Duchess of Malfi at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and marks her West End debut. She's also known for her roles on screen in movies like St Trinian's, Quantum Of Solace and Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters.
