Rescue and evacuation efforts are underway after a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia’s resort island of Lombok, killing at least 98 people and destroying thousands of buildings.
Lombok is still reeling from the powerful earthquakes that shook the island and brought down buildings and houses, injuring hundreds of people. The death toll is expected to rise as the search and rescue team continues to rummage through thick debris.
Evacuations are also ongoing to safely transport the thousands of tourists out of the holiday islands of Gili, a 15-minute boat ride from Lombok. [ Ссылка ]
