This video shows my experiment involving calibration frames. I have actually run this experiment by taking about 2 hours of data from 2 different imaging sessions, 5 months apart.
The first one is for M81 (Bode’s Galaxy) from June 2022 when my imaging equipment was fairly new.
The second set is for M33 (Triangulum Galaxy) from November 2022, after using the same imaging equipment for over 5 months.
I stacked the data first without any clibration frames, then added flat and dark-flat/bias frames. Finally, I added Darks in each set.
So, let’s see the difference from these sets of stacked images, with and without Calibration frames.
In each case, my Camera Gain was 101, Cooled -20 Deg Celsius and the Filter was Optolong L-Pro.
I hope this video is informtive and useful. Please let me know in comments if I missed anything. If you like this video, please consider Subscribing to my channel.
