Bangladesh has sent a diplomatic note to India requesting the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. India has confirmed receiving the request. The Bangladesh-based International Criminal Tribunal has issued arrest warrants for Hasina and several former cabinet ministers. A corruption case related to a power plant is also pending against Hasina. The interim government in Bangladesh wants Hasina to return and face judicial processes.
