This webinar was presented by Bill Goulding, RAC-CT, Lead Post-Acute Healthcare Consultant, Post-Acute Care Solutions (PACS) with Aegis Therapies.
While most of the SNF industry generally knew what to expect from PDPM, there was plenty of room for surprises and some have been significant! This session reviewed comprehensive operational and clinical data. That data included Nursing and NTA results in addition to the three therapy disciplines. Clinical and operational trends were discussed, as well as early strategies to mitigate negative trends where possible. There were specific recommendations regarding aspects of SNF services and practices that must be monitored going forward in order to be successful in this new payment model.
The webinar learning objectives includes:
1. Participants learned strategies to mitigate coding practices that result in under-representation of medical complexity.
2. Participants learned strategies to mitigate under-coding for Speech-Language services.
3. Participants learned strategies to build better inter-disciplinary communication, leading to more accurate representation of residents on the MDS.
