This is how I diagnosed a p0028/P0026 code on a 2008 Subaru Legacy. This should work the same on many other Subies with the same VVT, or AVCS type system (Forester Impreza Legacy Outback Tribeca) Etc. I can do the same test with Honda V-tec spool valves too, and probably others I have not encountered yet. 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12.
