Kumartuli is a traditional potter's quarter in northern Kolkata, West Bengal. The city is renowned for its sculpting prowess, which not only manufactures clay idols for various festivals but also regularly exports them. More than 450 workshops owned by master sculptors regularly create idols of Gods, Goddesses and models for museums and galleries here.
