The conversation about Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP), colloquially known as UFOs, is finally shifting from the realm of science fiction and conspiracy theories to serious academic inquiry. A pivotal driver of this transformation is the Galileo Project, an ambitious initiative launched in July 2021 by Harvard University astrophysicist Avi Loeb. The Galileo Project aims to bring the search for extraterrestrial technological evidence under the spotlight of rigorous, transparent, and systematic scientific research. By doing so, it hopes to demystify UAPs and address one of the most significant questions of our existence: Are we alone in the universe?
