Ukraine’s capital had maintained quarantine for over two months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In May, Kyiv was gradually easing the restrictions. The Kyiv metro has relaunched operations at all 52 of its stations across the Ukrainian capital. Passenger flow was noticeably less than usual. Most riders obeyed the new safety measures wearing masks and maintaining social distance. The restaurants and cafés were also opening their terraces. But the number of visitors was small. The city streets were half-empty.
