Stitched hybrid technology for the new FC Sochaux-Montbèliard pitch
September 2021 - Spectacular matches have been played since the start of the new football season on the new FC Sochaux-Motbèliard pitch at the Auguste Bonal Stadium.
This historic stadium was built in 1931 and has undergone several renovations, including one in 2000. In July, the entire pitch was renovated: from the sub-base to the new 'stitched' hybrid grass surface.
Let's talk about stitching. Imagine two large looms weaving blades of artificial turf directly into the pitch. Like a tailor, the Verdemix technology 'dresses' the natural turf field, giving it the 'strength' that only an artificial turf can have.
The artificial grass filaments give strength and resistance to the stress of playing on normal grass, without changing the athlete's perception and speed of play.
Charles Demouge, President of the Pays de Montbéliard Agglomération, who represented the three public authorities that co-financed the project with the Club, expressed, during the mid-July press conference, his desire to make the pitch shine as well as the Club's reputation, aiming for the highest level.
Well, looking at the pitch today, expectations have certainly not been disappointed!
