Footage of the quite notable thunderstorm which hit large areas of Northwest England causing flash flooding in Manchester, large hail in Barnsley and widespread frequent lightning displays. This storm followed the hottest September day for over 100 years.
Although the lightning was mostly rain obscured sheet lightning, it was nonetheless spectacular, as was the constant deep thunder that accompanied it. This is probably the best lightning display I have seen in the UK and followed a very disappointing year for thunderstorms in Leeds.
