Last summer I bought this 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon sight unseen, panicked a bit realizing how much work it needed, and although I may have no idea what I’m doing, here I am documenting the process of fixing it up and building it into a camper van.
This specific series will be covering the whole process from buying the van, finding the flaws, planning the build, fixing the horribly loud exhaust, and more.
Here you may also find various adventures in our first van, a 1987 Westfalia. I bought the Westy nearly 3 years ago, and absolutely love it. But anyone with an old Volkswagen will tell you... many times having one just doesn't quite cut it. So here I am!
Follow along each step of the way as we build out this old rusty van, including all the hiccups and adventures in between. And trust me, there will be plenty.
