Romeo and Juliet is a tragic play written by William Shakespeare, set in Verona, Italy. The story revolves around two young lovers, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, whose families are embroiled in a bitter feud. Their love blossoms quickly after they meet at a Capulet party, despite knowing that their families would never accept their union.

When Juliet awakens to find Romeo dead beside her, she takes his dagger and joins him in death. Their tragic end ultimately leads to the reconciliation of the Montague and Capulet families, underscoring the senselessness of their feud and the devastating consequences of hatred.
