The original part number from Sennheiser is ME2-US.
The Authentic original ME2-US is designed to be used with Sennheiser G1, G2, G3, and the new G4 wireless microphone system.
and it comes with Sennheiser's original retail packaging.
So when you wish to buy one, please clarify with the seller, that are they selling the original ME-2 US with the retail pack.
In any case to verify this after your purchase you may send to Sennheiser to do it.
My Sennheiser's friend advised if you see anyone offer the ME2-US for below SGD 100, you have to take special precautions to avoid falling into the trap.
