Farmers have long been told to “get big or get out”, but for Gindie grain grower Andrew Bate the future of farming is in looking at smaller solutions to fit specific needs within a farming system.
Mr Bate is the founder of SwarmFarm Robotics, which is pioneering the use of small, robotic machinery which can be programmed to tackle specific on-farm problems, such as weed control, for use in broadacre landscapes.
