A study from Pew Research finds 51% of adults under the age of 30 say an open marriage is "acceptable". And an article late last month in the New Yorker magazine examined all the ways that open marriages and relationships with 3 or more partners are becoming popular in movies and television. This follows a city in Massachusetts that in 2020 gave polyamorous relationships the same rights as married couples. President of the Dominican House of Studies and Moral Theologian, Father Thomas Petri, joins to share what he makes of the increase in the depiction of polyamorous relationships in movies and TV and whether it signals a wider acceptance in our society. Fr. Petri discusses whether the statistic that 51% of adults under 30 say an open marriage is acceptable surprises him. The city of Somerville, Massachusetts gave polyamorous relationships the same rights as married couples. Fr. Petri tells us where he sees this going. He fills us in on any final thoughts.
