Teledyne FLIR has compiled a new firmware update that maximizes performance and improves the safety of SIRAS. Keeping SIRAS updated with the latest firmware will improve flight stability, navigation, and user experience.
We do not recommend utilizing an earlier firmware version as this will affect the performance of the product.
The standard firmware update procedure is straightforward and should take only a few minutes to complete. The improvements include:
- Various flight stability and control improvements.
- General improvements to the ground control station (GCS) user interface, messaging, and stability.
- Improved verification and calibration of GCS controls before flight.
- Improved sensitivity of GCS control stick response.
- Improved Gimbal stability and control from GCS.
- Improved thermal image quality of GSC stream and added option for denoising filter.
- Enables 20MP EO capture during interval capture missions.
- Improved file naming on both GCS and SIRAS airframe.
- Improves altitude hold and stability.
- Maintains GPS-based navigation during periods of degraded inertial navigation system (INS) performance and challenging magnetic environments.
- Adds alert system in case of lost radio telemetry stream.
- Extends duration to activate emergency motor kill function to 3 seconds.
Improved data logging function and feedback workflow.
