In this video, I solve a slightly more challenging equation that contains two square roots. The steps to solve are:
1. Get one square root by itself on one side of the equation.
2. Square both sides to get rid of the square root.
3. Simplify. (For many of these problems, you will need to use the FOIL method to distribute since a binomial is being squared.)
4. Get the remaining square root by itself on one side of the equation.
5. Square both sides to get rid of the square root.
6. Solve. (If you have an x^2 remaining, you will want to get the equation equal to zero and then factor to solve. We do not have that step as part of this problem since we do not end up with an x^2.)
