Trains pulled Regularly by the most powerful locomotive of Indian Railways, featuring 6FRA6068 3Phase Traction Motor, IGBT Traction Convertor, 6350 Horse Power(Starting) and 353kN of Tractive Effort(Starting). WAP7 also can climb a ghat of 1:60 ruling gradient with 26 Passenger coaches, the only locomotive to achieve this feat, true self attestation of the title 'White Stallion'.
WAP7 was derived from WAG9 class of locomotives by Indian Railways which were made by ABB corp in swiss as a passenger version of the powerful Freight locomotive. The heavy hauler can achieve speeds upto 160, limited to 140 due to Axle load deficiency of Indian Tracks. WAP7 is also record holder of running Rajdhani Express trains at 90+kmph Average in Nagpur Bhopal through the Budni, Satpura ghats(Dharakhoh Marhamjhiri), Teegaon Chichonda and maintains a continuous speed along the stretch.
