I went on a solo escapade across Japan's Kyushu for a solid 6 days, hitting up Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Ibusuki, Hita, and Yufuin.
Trains were basically my wingmen, and Kyushu's got many special sightseeing trains, like Ibusuki-no-Tamatebako, Asoboy, and Yufu no Mori. Make sure to get a 3-day JR Kyushu Rail Pass ($130), the golden ticket to ride the Shinkansen (bullet trains) and local trains, will save you a lot of money.🚂💨
