Support continues to pour in for Former President Jimmy Carter, who died on Sunday at the age of 100.
Carter, a Georgia native, served one term in the White House and was revered for his humanitarian efforts after he left the presidency. Those latter sentiments are the over-prevailing focus of the statements left by public officials in the wake of his passing.
Turning 100 on Oct. 1, 2024, President Carter reached a milestone as the longest-living U.S. president that no other person to hold the title has reached. He is the only president from Georgia.
