바이든 취임후 시진핑과 첫 통화
President Joe Biden will hold a first phone meeting with Xi Jinping since taking office.
The conversation between the two leaders comes amid tensions over various issues... including Beijing’s tightening grip on Hong Kong, trade, technology and human rights in Xinjiang.
While a White House spokesperson has not responded to a request for comment, the call was reportedly arranged after Biden had spoken with numerous other world leaders, even Russian President Vladimir Putin.
With Xi Jinping, the U.S. President has pledged to try and find common ground, on topics such as climate change.
Yet Biden and his team have made it clear they intend to maintain the Trump administration’s more adversarial approach to China.
