The Night Safari is one of Singapore's premier tourist attractions. Opened on 26 May 1994, it was built at a cost of S$63 million and spans 35 hectares (86 acres) of secondary rainforest, located next to the Singapore Zoo and Upper Seletar Reservoir. Home to over 900 animals across 100 species—41% of which are threatened—the safari is managed by Mandai Wildlife Reserve and draws approximately 1.3 million visitors annually.
