💠 Mentors and Leaders, Not Idols - Altaf Husain - MASCON2019
✳️ In a world full of "imams," we often find ourselves idealizing our mentors and leaders. This idealization can be detrimental when we discover that despite their talents, these role models are ordinary people with their own faults. The community has been shocked and shaken by the moral/political failings of some community icons who used to be mentors and influencers for thousands of community members, especially the younger generation. Join us in exploring how to align our perception of our leaders appropriately and understanding that all humans are fallible and subject to shortcomings.
💠 The Annual MAS-ICNA Convention is one of the largest and most diverse Islamic conventions in North America. The convention takes place in Chicago, Illinois every December during the winter holiday season.
