As soon as the viral disease started showing slowness in Economy, RBI jumped in to anounce Moratorium to borrowers. Moratorium was announced for 6months, starting from March 1st 2020 to August 31st 2020. A PIL was filed in the Supreme Court to decide on the Compound Interest that got accumulated in the 6months time-frame. Central government came to the rescue of both borrowers & lenders by accepting to waive off the interest on interest and paying the same to lenders.
