At least five people have died after tornadoes tore through parts of Alabama and severe stormed have affected almost 50 million Americans and more wild weather is on the way.
Communities across America’s south are left assessing the devastation left behind by a deadly outbreak of tornadoes with significant damage seen across parts of Georgia and central Alabama.
Officials said the storm carved an approximately 160 kilometre path of destruction most of which was rural and less densely populated.
