Welcome to the first episode of Wine Riffs! Today I'm diving into the often overlooked wine region of Lalande de Pomerol located in Bordeaux's Right Bank north of its much more beloved neighbour: Pomerol. These are wines usually made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc that are far more affordable than similar wines from Pomerol. Could this be the best value area in all of Bordeaux? To test this theory I'm trying a bottle of Chateau Pavillon Beauregard 2019, a sister winery to the Chateau Beauregard winery in Pomerol. Let's get our glasses polished and riff on some Right Bank!
Score: 88-90+ (Drink Now to 2034)
