I pop thirteen half-dried chile pequins, and the initial flavor is earthy and tart, with a citrus aroma and a bit of bitterness from the high seed count. The burn comes on more slowly than expected but picks up pace quickly, leading to a hornet-sting feeling throughout my throat and the roof of my mouth.
